Weddings

Gareth & Nikki

Friends always ask us, what was the most fun wedding you’ve ever had? Obviously, we’ve shot a lot of weddings and we really enjoy all of them. But… there is always a but, this wedding was definitely the most fun wedding we had up-to-date. Firstly, the groom was of austrian heritage, which obviously makes him a legend. Nikki and her entire family are the kindest people on earth! As soon as I walked in the door they asked me if I’d like some breakfast, not just the usual coffee and muffins, a full gear luxury breakfast with eggs benedict. By then I knew this day is going to be an amazing wedding. Gareth & Nikki are the coolest couple alive and we had so much fun with them. The couple shoot was not just an ordinary procedure to get footage for the video and amazing photos, it was theater! Gareth showed us all his acting skills. Well, check out their cinematic web teaser, I think it will give you a good idea :) The couple showed class by choosing Summerplace as their venue of choice and the one and only Christopher Munton for their photos. We can’t stress enough how important it is to have awesome suppliers who gell well and work as a team. Chris is one of our top favorite photographers. He is one of the big shots in the industry and his work speaks for itself, but what is the most important, he is down to earth. Gareth (our Austrian brother) and Nikki, thanks for letting us capture your special day, you guys rock!

Michael & Andria

We are back and our latest creation is a true masterpiece. Full of culture, traditions and of course an awesome couple. Andria, which is basically a female spin of my name, Andreas was the most fun bride we had in a long time. Also, her bridesmaids were very quick with all the smart comebacks on everything we said, which was awesome. The atmosphere in the bridal suite was chilled, fun, sometimes crazy as a lot of people come in and out…then all of a sudden this cute baby was on the bed…It was like filming a tv documentary about this amazing family. We had such a good time and obviously the party was really cool, well, it was a greek/portuguese wedding. We didn’t expect anything less than a bombastic evening filled with traditional greek dancing and the usual portuguese party moves. A wedding we will definitely not forget, well done guys! Again, the bride only chose the best suppliers in the country, such as Gail for the Hair – Gail, tu es fantastique, très bien! Photos taken by the one and only Christiaan David, no wonder he is booked almost 2 years in advance, he is the master of light and definitely one of the big five photographers in the country.

Francois & Yvette

Don’t you just love weddings where everything is just perfect. A cool setting, an awesome couple, grand service suppliers and an event full of class and happiness. Francois and Yvette must have been one of the kindest couples we’ve ever filmed. Funny story, I said the same about another couple, Francois & Theana…why is it funny? Well Theana is Yvette’s sister and both are married to a Francois :) Everything was so well organized, well I guess it has a lot to do with Yvette’s mother. The couple chose a fabulous jazz band with an Austrian lead singer…obviously the band was world class, ironically the couple chose two Austrian suppliers? We might come out of a tiny country but have a big presence :) The party was pumping and everybody had the time of their lives. It was so great to work with Bronwyn & Terrence from Van der Bijl Photography, these guys are just amazing and their work is excellent. We just added them to our hall of fame of best photographers in the country. Well done, guys!

George & Tiffany

Usually, we meet our clients before the wedding to make sure they know who we are what we do and that we all ‘gel well’ :) Not in this case, the couple just booked and from the emails we got we knew this is going to be an amazing couple. Firstly, the couple and their friends kept on saying “you guys are the best in the industry”, which we were flattered by, but the pressure was on. When we arrived at Oakfield farm, which is one of our favorite venues, and we finally meet the couple. We knew this is going to be a masterpiece and should be displayed at the Louvre…ok, (I stole this line from a song but I mean it.) I guess, the couple was every cinematographers dream, good looking, every angle is perfect and they were in love more than I’ve seen nowadays. We are especially honored that couples have started to realize how important a perfect memory is and our slogan: Pictures capture moments, we capture EVERYTHING, is finally spreading :) The event was perfectly organized by Lorna from Wedding Emporium. You could see professionals were busy doing their magic. We never mention DJ’s unless they are as brilliant as AV Emporium, wow, the lighting of the hall and the sound quality. It was mind-blowing! George & Tiffany made sure to only choose the best. George’s speech must have been the best groom speech we have ever heard, in fact, one of the camera operators spared a tear, which of course we teased him for afterwards :) Before I forget, George’s sister Selene was amazing, she was so helpful and there is nothing cooler than a bridesmaid who is taking her job serious, gotta love it! The party was heating up and you could see everybody had the time of their lives, might be a cheesy line, but hey the couple started doing the dirty dancing lift…Alright, I must admit, this actually was one the highlights of the evening…the amazing opening dance….Guys, congratulations, thanks for giving us the footage of a lifetime.

Ben & Tracy

This wedding definitely had a British accent, mainly because the couple and a lot of their friends live over there. We only met the couple on their wedding day as they organized everything from overseas with the help of Wedding Concepts, who by the way, did a brilliant job. The wedding was intimate, classy and probably one of the biggest parties we have seen. The people from the UK know how to party, thats for sure. We truly enjoyed working with them, first of all, Ben is one of the coolest guys we have met and such a gentlemen, and so ‘British’ it is awesome. Tracy was brilliant too, she was relaxed, well she knew she got everything under control, and she looked amazing. Oh before I forget, Ben’s son sounded just like Harry Potter, it was so cool! The theme was definitely party until you drop and have the time of your life like a rockstar. Really cool! We met dna photography from Cape Town, very nice husband and wife (and this coming from an Austrian about a German :) ). To sum up, a wedding well done with a rockstar couple!

Hagop & Ashley

If you walk into the bridal suite you usually get a good, energetic but nervous vibe from the bride or bridesmaid. Well, let me tell you guys, this one was different. When we walked into this room it was one big party! Club music was playing, girls walked around in towels, one prettier than the other…. I needed to concentrate because it felt like I was in a movie! I had to start working, which wasn’t easy in this case:) Needless to say the bride, Ashley was more than beautiful. It’s just pretty girls everywhere! On the other side of the building the groom and his groomsmen (7 of them, or more…it was a lot :) ) had a barber shop session with a full shave and clean hair cut. The crowd was rocking and Hagop showed us his magic moves on the dance floor. Wow!! Another party! Our studio buddy Christiaan David took their photos, job well done as usual. The photos are chic, glamorous and timeless.

Fritz & Ane

One after the other is getting married in our studio. First to start is Ane and what can we say… She looked absolutely amazing!! Obviously everything was so organised and well planned. She’s seen a lot of weddings so we wouldn’t have expected anything less of what’s going around in our studio. The venue was amazing, the food was 5 star, the decor simple & stylish and the entire wedding was great fun. Great job! Yes, we worked, but we were also guests at the wedding and that felt really good. The crowd was rocking the dance floor and the bar upstairs seemed to draw a lot of attention :) To sum up, Ane, you did an absolutely amazing job and all the best for the future! Christiaan David, her boss :) and his brother Andre took their photos, a brilliant combo.

Brent & Vikki

Some of the most emotional and festive celebrations are definitely at jewish Weddings. We had the honor to be part of Brent & Vikki’s most special day and we are speechless :) Lets quickly rewind, we certainly knew right from the start that we wanted to be part of this wedding. When Vikki and her mom visited our studio, they were so enthusiastic, kind, friendly and down to earth. Another great bonus was that Vikki is absolutely beautiful, so we knew this is going to be our flagship jewish wedding. Meeting the rest of her and Brent’s family just confirmed our positive thoughts. Needless to say the entire day was perfect from start to end. Everybody made us feel so welcome and the shots we got were just out of this world amazing. I just need to quickly mention this, Vikki’s mom is phenominal, and when I heard all the speeches and what was said about her, I totally agree! I don’t want to single out anybody because everybody was just great. After filming hundreds of weddings we kind of toughened up and our emotions very seldom come through, but this wedding definitely ignited a hidden spark in our team. Everybody was in a hype and thats what it’s all about. Vikki looked like a modern, haute-couture Ballerina (absolutely mind blowing). We actually felt like we were in a movie, which is kind of ironic as we make movies :) . I guess I felt it the most since I was with the bridal party the entire day and I was surrounded by Jo-burgs most beautiful girls :) To sum up, it was a wedding with flair, emotions and values. In short, it was a celebration, as it should be!

Ron & Tertia

Not only did this wedding have a priest that looked like Bill Murray, which is my favorite actor, but it also had a lot of memories that will be cherished in time. This entire wedding was a great success. The bride Tertia was so cool and kind and we enjoyed every moment filming her, she’s just a natural and the camera loves her! Her husband, Ron was relaxed and enjoyed every single moment of his day. The couple is amazing, the bridesmaids looked breathtaking, the food was excellent and the crowd rocked! The best man’s speech was the best we’ve ever heard at a wedding! This coming from someone that’s been to hundreds of weddings, so this must’ve be something breathtaking. I think he should get an award and his speech should also be used as a guide for future couples too scout their best men according to this awesome speech. Well written and presented, and definitely something I will remember forever! We also had a little family reunion, where we met up with our previous designer, who also was the maid of honour. She’s on the verge of becoming an air hostess and also left a lasting impression on the crowd with her speech :) Christiaan David took their amazing photo’s. Always a winner!

Donovan & Eranee

Sunday weddings are always great. The atmosphere is relaxed, time seems to be unlimited and everybody is just in a happy place. As soon as we walked in to the reception hall and we saw the set up we thought a professional wedding planning company was involved. To our surprise it was the bride organizing her entire wedding! Wow, a job well done! From laser cut menus to classy table settings, it was really cool and if you read our blog entries we never talk about the decor. As guys usually focus on different things, which we won’t mention now :) The couple was awesome and we got such a cool vibe from them and their guests We got some amazing sunset shots with the couple and it was just a perfect day from beginning to end. We met a new photographer team from Open Images and it was very nice working with them. We can go on and on, but check out their clip and you’ll know what I am talking about.
